I had never heard of Satellite Island a few weeks ago. Probably because it's an isolated, private island located off the coast of Bruny Island, which is off the coast of mainland Tasmania (so it's an island off an island off an island). When I found out that I was going to be doing an outdoorsy photoshoot there with Lululemon, I googled it and got VERY excited.
I have found that when it comes to food, people tend to be impressed by things with layers. Two layers: "that looks a bit special". Three layers: "OMG, Lilian you have outdone yourself". One day soon, I'll do something with four layers. But when it's a no-bake slice like this one, creating a few layers is child's play. It's just an assembly job, really.
Most weekends, I make some sort of protein ball to store in my fridge for when I need a quick snack (they also come in handy if you're craving something extra after dinner). I've been getting a lot of requests for a vegan protein ball that is also nut-free, so I came up with these!
Following the festive season, I always feel the need for something green and healthy, but still tasty, to ease myself back on track. These Savoury Teff Crepes do the trick! They're really easy to whip up and you can stuff them with a bunch of your favourite greens and healthful things for a delicious breakfast, lunch or dinner.
I get excited when I find new food things that I haven't eaten yet. So I was pretty pumped when I found black bean noodles at my local health food store. I've tried a range of gluten-free noodles in the past (buckwheat noodles, mung bean noodles, kelp noodles etc), but never black bean. They seemed pretty natural (the ingredients were just black beans and water) and I loved their black colour. So into my basket they went.
